slowLab
slowLab was founded in 2003 by Carolyn Strauss in New York (USA) as a laboratory for 'slow design' thinking and creative activism. The organization serves as a catalyst and resource for designers, artists and the public to explore and reframe their work and life practices through a lens of Slowness, realizing new tools and scenarios for awareness, community-building and sustainability. slowLab is home to a strong, diverse and growing network of "creative activists" who support and participate in its projects. slowLab hosts public dialogues and exhibitions, develops academic programming, and publishes its ideas. slowLab is a sponsored organization of the New York Foundation for the Arts, with offices in New York and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
